CRITERIA AND METHOD OF
APPROVAL
OF JUDGING LIST
APPLICATIONS.
THE
JUDGING LISTS SHALL BE SUBJECT TO A SINGLE ANNUAL REVIEW. THE ANNUAL REVIEW SHALL TAKE PLACE AT THE
FIRST COMMITTEE MEETING AFTER
1ST.
JANUARY EACH YEAR.
IN CONSIDERATION OF THE ABOVE. ALL NEW APPLICATIONS
FOR CONSIDERATION FOR INCLUSION ON A JUDGING LIST OR ELEVATION TO A MORE SENIOR
LIST,
MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE SECRETARY NOT LATER THAN
DECEMBER 31ST. APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AFTER THIS DEADLINE SHALL BE
HELD OVER UNTIL THE
FOLLOWING YEARS REVIEW.
NEW JUDGING LIST APPLICATIONS SHALL BE PLACED BEFORE THE COMMITTEE AND ACCEPTED OR REJECTED ON MERIT. A 2/3 MAJORITY REQUIRED TO SUCCEED.
IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES APPLICANTS SHALL BE INFORMED IN WRITING, AS TO THE OUTCOME OF THEIR APPLICATION.

PERSONS WHO FULFILL ALL THE
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE A3 LIST, WHO HAVE BEEN ASSESSED IN ACCORDANCE WITH KENNEL
CLUB REQUIREMENTS, ACCEPTED BY
THE KENNEL CLUB FOR INCLUSION ON AN A2 LIST AND WHOM THIS CLUB
WOULD SUPPORT.
JUDGING LIST A3.
PERSONS WHO MEET THE
CRITERIA LISTED BELOW AND THIS CLUB WOULD SUPPORT AS BEING SUITABLE TO AWARD
CHALLENGE CERTIFICATES IN THE BREED, BUT
NOT YET APPROVED BY THE
KENNEL CLUB FOR INCLUSION ON THE A2 LIST.
A3. Criteria: BREED SPECIALIST
1.
Those persons
having had active involvement with or shown an interest in the breed for a
minimum of ten (10) years. THEY MUST ALSO HAVE A
MINIMUM OF 7 YEARS JUDGING EXPERIENCE IN THE BREED.
2.
To have judged a
minimum of 60 *QUALIFYING BREED CLASSES or a FULL CLUB SHOW plus an additional
40*QUALIFYING CLASSES, over
a minimum period of ten (10) years.
3.
Alternatively to
have judged a minimum of 150 dogs in a total of not less than 60 breed classes,
or 120 dogs in a total of not less than 40 breed classes +
a Club Show over a minimum period of ten (10) years.
4.
To have bred
and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their 1st. entry
in the Kennel Club Stud book (Save in exceptional circumstances).
5.
To have stewarded
for a minimum period of 3 years and at 12 shows.
6.
To have attended
a seminar given by a K. C. Accredited Trainer on both Conformation &
Movement & Rules, Regulations and Judging procedure
AND PASSED THE RELEVANT EXAMINATION.
7.
To have attended
at least one Great Dane specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant K.
C. code of best practice and passed an examination
and/or assessment where applicable.
A3. Criteria: NON BREED SPECIALIST
As 1 to 7 above, plus to have awarded CCs in at
least one other breed.

B.
PERSONS WHOM THIS CLUB
WOULD SUPPORT AS BEING SUITABLE TO JUDGE AT OPEN SHOWS OR CHAMPIONSHIP SHOWS
WITHOUT CCs AND HAVE JUDGED
*20 OR MORE QUALIFYING
CLASSES or have judged 75 DOGS IN A TOTAL OF NOT LESS THAN 20 CLASSES of the
breed.
Criteria: BREED SPECIALIST & NON SPECIALIST
1.
Those persons
having had active involvement with or shown an interest in the breed for a
minimum of five (5) years.
2.
To have judged a minimum
of 20 *QUALIFYING BREED CLASSES or have judged 75 DOGS IN A TOTAL OF NOT LESS
THAN 20 CLASSES
of the breed at Open or Limited Show level.
JUDGING LIST C.
ASPIRANT JUDGES WHOM THIS
CLUB WOULD SUPPORT AS BEING SUITABLE TO JUDGE AT OPEN SHOWS, BUT HAVE NOT YET
ATTAINED THE CRITERIA FOR INCLUSION
ON THE B LIST.
Criteria: BREED SPECIALIST & NON SPECIALIST
1.
Those persons
having had active involvement with or shown an interest in the breed for a
minimum of five (5) years, who do not yet qualify for the B List

QUALIFYING
BREED CLASSES: DEFINED AS THOSE CLASSES IN WHICH A MINIMUM OF THREE (3)
EXHIBITS WERE ENTERED, WERE PRESENT AND WERE JUDGED.

REPEATS
FROM PREVIOUS CLASSES MAY BE INCLUDED IN THE “DOGS PRESENT” TOTAL.
(**Key note:
After 1st. January 1999 all applications shall be subject to the
QUALIFYING CLASS criteria, In the case of those seeking elevation to a more
senior list, it
will only be those appointments undertaken after that date which shall be
subject to this criteria.)
The club retains
the right of selection. Attainment of criteria does not automatically guarantee
inclusion on any list. Membership of the club shall not be
a prerequisite
for inclusion on any judging list.
Persons named on the A1 list (championship shows) need make no
future re-application. It is not necessary to reapply for continued inclusion
on any list, this is
only required when a person has attained the criteria for
inclusion on a more senior list and wishes to be considered for elevation to
it.
POLICY
FOR THE SELECTION OF JUDGES.
1. INVITATIONS TO JUDGE THE CH. SHOW
SHALL BE OFFERED A MINIMUM OF 2/3 YEARS PRIOR TO THE APPOINTMENT DATE.
2. DITTO ABOVE, FOR OPEN/MEMBERS SHOWS
INVITATIONS SHALL BE OFFERED 1/2 YEARS PRIOR TO DATE. (IN ALL CASES THE EARLIER THE BETTER)
3. PRIOR TO INVITATIONS BEING OFFERED,
TO JUDGE AT ANY LEVEL, THE FUTURE JUDGING COMMITMENTS OF PROSPECTIVE JUDGES
MUST BE ASCERTAINED.
4.
WHENEVER POSSIBLE,INVITATIONS TO JUDGE
THE CLUBS SHOWS, SHOULD ONLY BE OFFERED TO PERSONS WHOM BY THE DATE OF THE SHOW
IN QUESTION,
WOULD NOT HAVE JUDGED EITHER SEX OF THE
BREED AT ANY LEVEL, WITHIN THE PRECEDING 18 (Eighteen) MONTHS.
5. JUDGES ELECT WHO DUE TO PRIOR
APPOINTMENTS CANNOT COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE SHOULD BE OFFERED LATER APPOINTMENTS
WHICH WOULD COMPLY.
6.
ALL JUDGES INVITATION / ACCEPTANCE
CONTRACTS TO STATE THAT THE JUDGE AGREES TO ABSTAIN FROM JUDGING THE BREED AT
ANY LEVEL PRIOR TO THEIR
JUDGING APPOINTMENT, FOR THE PERIODS AS
STATED ABOVE. IT MUST ALSO INCLUDE AN AGREEMENT TO SUPPLY OR HAVE
PUBLISHED A CRITIQUE OF THEIR JUDGING APPOINTMENT.
7.
THE CLUB SHALL ACTIVELY PROMOTE A MIX OF
NEW AND EXPERIENCED JUDGES FROM WITHIN THE BREED FOR THEIR SHOWS.
