To say I enjoyed my weekend with these Great Dane enthusiasts would be an understatement, on arriving at the venue I was met with a genuine warm welcome,

the committee ably headed by secretary May Phelan are all a credit to this thriving club, and must be the envy of many others. My sincere thanks to the club for

inviting me and presenting me with a beautiful commemorative gift that I shall treasure.

Premier League Dog

  1. Williams, Jaydania Just a Showman. Two-year-old male, good head and neck, sound front and strong rear, liked his bone and overall outline, strong in body with all parts fitting together nicely. Shown in super condition and handled well.

  1. Haighs, Amaraud Love Hurts, J.W. Another impressive fawn, good male head with correct eye and mouth, arched neck, good front assemble, nice legs and feet, powerful rear. Went well, looks good in stance.

  1. Morgan Evans, Vanmore French Leave, completes a trio of fawns, superbly conditioned and presented, another lovely head but of a slightly lighter mould, being cleaner although still essentially masculine, probably the best feet of the three. I thought his make and shape very typical but he looked somewhat immature against the first two, just needs time and should finish well.

Premier League Bitch

  1. Clarkes, Ch. Myhalston Morgan La Faye at Mintrex. This pale fawn gave me goose bumps, lovely head on this ultra classy young lady, superb neck and front assembly, strong legs, correct feet and pasterns, she just looked right every way you looked at her. She is strong in body, with correct rear angulation; second thigh well defined giving her a strong yet powerful and easy action. When standing she radiate class and style. I just loved her, delighted to award her Winner Overall of the Premier League

  1. Cookes, Tantallons Striptease. Another fawn of quality. Lovely head with super expression, liked her eye and ear set, she has super bone and substance to spare yet still no mistaking her sex. She stood well on strong legs and feet, and yet another with super hind action giving her a strong easy gait.

3.  Seddons, Toscade Action Replay of Tenaya. Yet another super fawn. Delightful feminine head, arched neck, angulation on front and rear correct. She looked good standing and was an easy mover, shown in super bloom.

Super League Dog

  1. Wiltshires, Ch. Ladymere Lord of the Dance. Excellent fawn male of super size and substance, lovely headpiece on this lad, neck well arched giving him a look of great nobility. His overall quality was quite breathtaking. This chap has class and style to spare, construction is as good as it gets, he’s good and he knows it. His front assembly is really super, shoulders clean and elbows tight, 1. feet catlike and no weakness in the pasterns here, good body and strong rear, sound easy mover who can never be overlooked.

  1. Phelans, Garsak Sir Glen. Another super fawn that I gave a group to as a puppy. All male of commanding appearance, lovely male head with a soft yet gentle expression, loved his size, reminds me of the Merrowleas in particular Mr Softee of some years ago. An exhibit of truly noble bearing, well constructed fore and aft, super bone and substance, in super condition and handled superbly, still not at full maturity, the best is yet to come from this boy.

3. Chappel & Cottams, Selmalda Check the Meaning J.W. Yet another fawn, liked his head and expression, good front assembly, strong legs and feet, excellent body, looks good standing, kept his topline on the move. Couldn’t quite match the first two in hind angulation, but still a dog of high quality.

Super League Bitch

  1. Hooker, Lockey & Armour, Garsak Flamenco. Top quality fawn who entered the ring and said look at me and I did. Lovely headpiece on this lass, super eye and mouth, ears well set, neck well arched and her front is copybook. Superb bone, strong legs and feet, body well made, rear end strong and well angulated, she looked lovely standing, superbly balanced and an outline to die for. Amazed she did not carry a title, perhaps overshadowed by the fabulous Blaze. Superbly presented and handled, in my humble opinion a fabulous bitch who I was delighted to award Super League Supreme Winner 2005.

  1. Booths, Roucandane Tiger Dawn. Quality golden brindle of style, very good head and neck, sound front and powerful rear, presented a pleasing picture standing. She has super bone and substance, correct legs and feet, and moved and handled well, another very useful bitch.

3. Foxwells, Ch. Flighty Makepiece with Auldmoor. Another brindle, this time a darker shade, and very attractive, super headpiece, good ear set, proud neck, good front, correct middlepiece, strong rear, she stood on strong legs and good feet. Still quite young and looked a little raw against the first two, but still of top quality and will go on to better things with full maturity.                                                   Mr Joe Smith (Judge)
